On the surface that sounds like good news. In practice it's the grid telling Brisbane and Gold Coast solar owners exactly what their daytime exports are now worth: nothing.

The homeowners winning from 2026 onwards will be the ones who stop selling their solar to retailers and start storing it for their own evening use. That's how a Brisbane home goes from a $400 quarterly bill to one paid almost entirely from the roof. The Energex network covers South East Queensland, and the Solar Sharer Offer applies throughout — which means every Brisbane and Gold Coast household has the same opportunity, and the same exposure if they don't act.
